We saw the movie Stardust tonight. It was really a great fantasy movie. It’s really imaginative and wonderful; not derivative in the least (too many fantasy movies are IMO).
It has a certain charm that reminds me of cool fantasy movies of the ’80s like The Princess Bride, Willow and Labyrinth. It has everything you’d expect from such a flick: a good love story, frightful villians, comical ghosts and a cross-dressing pirate. Yes, a frou-frou, cross-dressing pirate — played by Robert De Niro no less. Highly recommended.
